Almighty God, our Heavenly King, the Lord of all the years, we thank you for all those who have shaped the history of this school, from its origins in the Benedictine Abbey of St Peter to the present day. We remember especially Abbot Serlo and Henry VIII, and we praise you for all those who have supported the school in their generation, that it might send out pupils to reform the old world and to inspire the new.

We ask that you would bless and guide the work of the King's Foundation in helping to further the historic mission of the school to the city of Gloucester and to the wider world. We ask your blessing on the school's work in Christian education and on behalf of the local and international community.

You raised up for us many benefactors, known and unknown, remembered and forgotten, whose harvest we today are reaping: Make us also faithful in this our day, that we may sow a generous harvest, which others shall reap in the future.
